She admitted that for a period of two to three years after that event, she avoided wearing shorts or skirts during her performances. Miley recounted how she once wore a cute bodysuit to an event only to be mocked and compared to a turkey, leading her to feel extremely self-conscious and unhappy.
At the age of 21, the famous actress from Black Mirror gave a performance that has become infamous. It was during this period that she was just starting to discover herself as an independent person. The experience was very hurtful for her as she was subjected to body-shaming, which had a significant impact on her personal life. The actress stated that the trolling and body-shaming she experienced inspired her to create the Happy Hippie foundation. The nonprofit organization’s primary goal is to mobilize young people to fight against injustices affecting homeless youth, LGBTQ youth, and other vulnerable populations.
